The Company’s segments include Trade and Workshop, which is engaged in sales and service of power equipment, household goods, agricultural tractors and implements, marine engines, motor cycles, motor cars, three-wheeler vehicles, commercial laundry equipment, commercial engines and general goods; Investment properties, which is engaged in property rentals, and Poultry, which is engaged in day old chick farming. It offers its products under various categories, such as Cummins power generation, Cummins, TVS motor bikes, Kubota tractors, MRF tires, Piaggio, Garmin products and Toyota Forklifts. Car and General is the company behind a wide range of power generation, automotive and engineering products in East Africa. These span several industries- industrial, agriculture, construction, finance, retail, domestic, tourism, petroleum, transport, mining among others. Their products include Cummins diesel generators, TVS motorcycles, Piaggio three wheelers, Briggs and Stratton small perol engines- water pumps,lawn mowers, brush cutters, IngersollRand air compressors and light construction equipment, Kubota agricultural tractors, Mercury outboard engines, MRF Tyres, Garmin Satelite Navigation devices, Toyota forklofts, BT lifting equipment, Motorol Lubricants and Doosn excavatos and wheel loaders. In addition to these products, Car and General hold reliable parts andspares coupled with after sales service.

The company is headquartered in Nairobi with branches in Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Kitengela and Eldoret.  It has separate subsidiaries in Uganda (Kampala) and Tanzania ( Dar-es-Salaam) with branches in Arusha and Rwanda in Kigali. As part of Tanzania’s operation, Car and General operates Kibo Poultry Products Limited situated at Moshi.Going forward the company is focusing on Ninche engine products to gain market share and competitive advantage.
