William Holden Wildlife Education Center The Centre is located in an indigenous forest, on the banks of the Nanyuki River. The centre and its hostels are used by Wildlife Clubs for education camps. The design compliments and blends in with the forest. The scale of the buildings has been minimised and buildings have been sited to avoid cutting trees. Materials were selected for their sympathy with the environment. Local stone, gum poles, stone and tile floors have been used in the construction. Building form and orientation are dictated by the climate (strong sun and heavy rain) and the high altitude.
