This is a list of licensed stockbrokers in Uganda. Stockbrokers are intermediaries who facilitate buying and selling of securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds in the capital markets. On top of that, they provide investment advice and guidance to their clients.
A stockbroker is a licensed professional with the authority to buy and sell stocks for other investors. Stockbrokers are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and are typically employed by a brokerage or a broker-dealer.
The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) was established by an Act of Parliament, The Capital Markets Authority Act, Cap 84 of the Laws of Uganda. The CMA is a statutory body with the primary responsibility of promoting and facilitating the development of an orderly, fair, and efficient capital markets industry in Uganda. In line with its statutory obligations, the Authority hereby publishes a list of persons approved to conduct securities business in Uganda.
