Arab American Vehicles is an Egyptian automobile manufacturer based in Cairo, Egypt. The company manufactures various vehicles under license from Daimler AG, Kia, Stellantis and Toyota, having begun as a joint venture between the Arab Organization for Industrialization (51%) and the Chrysler Group LLC (49%). On 14 December 1978, production began with the military and civilian vehicles.

Their current lineup consists of the Jeep Cherokee and the open-top Wrangler-based Jeep AAV TJL.
Initially AAV was established to serve the Egyptian and Arab military forces by providing them with the much-imitated American CJ-series Jeep vehicles, the descendants of the world’s first four-wheel drive military vehicle, the Willys. These were the first vehicles to roll off the AAV assembly line in 1978.
After meticulous testing, the armed forces of several arab countries chose the CJ over other vehicles .
AAV promptly started assembly, with modifications depending on clients operational requirements. The CJ’s exceptional capabilities, coupled with AAV’s manufacturing expertise, resulted in top-of-the-line military vehicles that have since set the pace for similar operations in Egypt.

From 1979 To 20/5/2009:
AAV produced the following Jeep brands:
CJ6, CJ7, CJ8, J20, Wagoneer, AM720, Wrangler, Cherokee .with a total number 40655 vehicles.
As well as AAV produced other brands of vehicles like:
Ritmo, Polonez, Tractors, Suzuki, Peugeot, Kia, Citroen, Hyundai , Komodo
With a total number 39737
This figures are going to increase with a considerable rate as the production capacity of our lines increased to reach 17500 car /one shift/year. Besides AAV is negotiating to have more new products.
