2024 Mercedes-AMG CLE53 Starting at $85,000 est. The new CLE53 is a hotted-up version of Mercedes-Benz’s standard CLE-class coupe. Crafted by the company’s Mercedes-AMG performance division, it’s motivated by a 443-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six hooked up to a nine-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. The CLE was already a stylish car, a classy mashup of the former C-class and E-class coupes, and the AMG treatment adds—not surprisingly—more aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers, a revised hood, widened fenders, a lip spoiler on the trunk, and a rear diffuser with four integrated exhaust outlets. The CLE53’s cabin design is also more sporting than its standard Benz-branded sibling, with carbon-fiber trim, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and other racy details. All models come with a large 12.3-inch infotainment display, an 11.9-inch digital gauge display, and a host of driver-assistance and convenience features that you’d expect from a car with the Mercedes three-pointed star on the grille. For now, the CLE53 will be offered only as a coupe, but we expect to see a soft top convertible model join the lineup next to challenge drop-top variants of rivals such as the Audi S5 and the BMW M440i.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The CLE53 comes standard with automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a driver-attention monitor. Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are optional. For more information about the CLE53’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:
- Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
- Standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist
- Available adaptive cruise control
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Mercedes-AMG provides competitive limited and powertrain warranties. However, the company doesn’t offer complimentary scheduled maintenance—something that rivals from BMW and Jaguar do.
- Limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles
- Powertrain warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles
- No complimentary scheduled maintenance
